Fun Summer

You know, I think hanging around at home with friends makes summer truly SUMMER.

Yesterday and this morning was one of my best days of my life. Some of the guys (Tom, Brandon, Mike, Gordon, Theo, and Matt) and girls (Vanessa, Helena, Leah, Lisa, Pooja, Kaitlin, and me) from cross country biked to Stanford. The thing was we lost Tom, Brandon, Mike, and Gordon from the beginning of the trip until the trip home. Mike was a dumb guy and left Gordon all by himself at the shopping center, so I hope Gordon is okay. This took about 3 hours of my lazy morning, but we biked pretty slowly.

Then, Los Gatos All-Comer meet was really fun. It started at 5 PM, but Jill, Matt, Angela, Jean, and I didn't race until 6 PM. What's amazing is that there are little kids about the age of 3 who race in the 100 m and 60 m races. What's shocking was that there was a 5-year old girl who was wearing SPIKES. My goodness. That child was spoiled. Since the meet was just for pure fun, Jill, Matt, Angela, and Jean started off with the 4x100 m relay without stretching or warming up. Well, we didn't do any of that stuff the whole night. HAHA. We didn't even have a baton, so it was hilarious watching them run. Then Matt did 800 m. Angela and Jean did 100 m, 60 m, and long jump. Jill also did 100 m. Matt, Jean, and Angela were so awesome and ran with me during the mile although I am much slower with them. I was pretty proud of my time considering I didn't warm up, stretch, and had a stomachache halfway through it. Then Jill left at 7:45 PM. :( I think my embarassment of the day was the 330 m hurdles (1:16 time HAHAHA), because I skipped two and stepped over one. I couldn't stop laughing during the whole race. Jean and Matt did a great job. Then right after, Jean, Matt, Angela, and I finished the night with 4x400 m relay, and we were second to last! WOOT.

Okay, but the night isn't over yet. I slept an hour from midnight to 1 AM in order to stay awake for 2 AM when Matt and Nayson picked me up to watch Perseid meteor shower. We went to Vanessa's house to bake brownies, but the thing was none of us had called her to say we were doing that.
Matt: Hey, Nayson, did you tell Vanessa we're coming over?
Nayson: No. Did you?
Matt: No. Judy, did you?
Judy: Uh...no. Was I supposed to?
So we call Vanessa outside her house, and I guess she HAD to let us in. We were super quiet and baked brownies, but her dad still woke up. AND the DOG was up at 2:30 AM too. Geebers. After the brownies were done, Matt and Nayson went to pick up Matt's brother, Stefan, and get speakers for music. Then Matt came back with Tupperware to fill it up with brownies. FINALLY, we start heading for Hunter's Point. We get there around 3:15 AM, and Nayson takes four pictures of all of us in order to have his "SUPER COOL PICTURE WITH THE BACKGROUND OF THE CITY LIT UP BECAUSE THAT IS ART". Stefan, Vanessa, Matt, and I lay down on blankets and watch the sky for meteor showers while Nayson can NOT leave his video camera and digital camera. He really wanted to cath some meteor showers on his camera, but they were all over the place. I think he finally gave up at 4:30 AM. We snacked on brownies, apple pie, and cornbread while talking, watching the sky, and listening to music until 6:30 AM. Nayson left at 6:15 AM to go to school for Link Crew. After all this, Matt, Stefan, Vanessa, and I walked back on Rainbow.

The only thing that really spoiled the day was hearing that Nayson got a $50 ticket for parking in the fire lane when there is not going to be a fire at 4 AM in the morning. Anyway, we all decided that we'll pay him, since he drove us. :D
